Starcraft 2: Announced - 5.20.2007

Okay, so it wasn't a Starcraft MMO...

Last night, Blizzard announced the new Starcraft RTS, Starcraft 2. However, this is a World of Warcraft blog, so I'm not gunna go into any detail about it. If you would like more information, click the hyperlink in this post.

World of... Starcraft? - 5.5.2007

Well, it looks like what we THOUGHT was gunna be the announcement of Starcraft II is ACTUALLY gunna be the announcement for the new Starcraft MMO.

So now, we just gotta wait for the announcement on May 19th at Blizzard's World Wide Invitational (WWI).

UPDATE: In case you think that this is "bullcrap" - although you have to just take my word for it - I have witnessed numerous threads being deleted on the official World of Warcraft forums regarding this new MMO. This is obviously not the best "proof", however is must be known that Blizzard always deletes threads that state "true rumors" whereas they don't bother with deleting "speculation".

WoWHead.com Sells Out? - 5.3.2007

So, I was running through Stranglethorn Vale when I got an in-game WoW gold selling ad. Unfortunately, this happens quite frequently on my server (high population server ftl), but this ad was different. At the end of the ad, the gold seller mentions that the gold selling site was "sponsored" by Wowhead, a World of Warcraft website known for NOT selling themselves out (unlike Thottbot, Allakhazam, etc.). It's a bit suspicious, although this could be some player making a fake ad and trying to create a conspiracy... Nonetheless, this should be known by WoW players just in case.

The Ataris Machinima Contest - 5.1.2007

The Ataris (a band), Blizzard, NVIDIA, and Machinima.com have all joined forces to create a World of Warcraft music video machinima contest.

So, basically you create a machinima music video with one of three songs in which the Ataris' have on their new album, Welcome the Night. (Tell me this isn't some cheap advertisement ploy...)

For more information, check out the official contest site.

Starcraft 2? - 4.27.2007

Has Starcraft 2 been in the works this whole time?

According to a Korean website, Starcraft 2 will be announced at Blizzard's World Wide Invitational in South Korea loaded with screenshots and even video demos. Some may be skeptical because of the Korean sources, but Starcraft players must be aware that a huge percent (I'm talkin' a HUGE percent) of the players are in Korea.

It's been confirmed that Blizzard has invited over 100 international media and has prepared both Seoul Olympic Gymnastics Stadium and Fencing Stadium for this event. Also, on February 28th, Mike Morhaime (Blizzard president), stated that, "At the WWI in May, there will be a surprise announcement".

So, come May 19th, 2007, don't be surprised to see Starcraft 2 screenshots and videos ALL OVER the interwebz.

WoW Gets Nerdier...ier? - 4.26.2007

Oh joy...

"If you've ever wondered what it would be like to walk a mile in your character's shoes, there's no better place to indulge that fantasy than the Renaissance Faire. Stroll through bustling markets full of merchants eagerly hawking their wares, witness breathtaking displays of swordsmanship, or enjoy fine food and drink while one of the many troupes performing at the faire entertains you."

Renaissance Entertainment Productions is now organizing several Renaissance events across the U.S. and WoW players get a 20% discount!! The first event will be the Renaissance Pleasure Faire in southern California. So, hurry and order your tickets now, before they are all sold out!!

Warcrack - 3.16.2007

Well, as you can see, I haven't posted in just over two months. The reason for this is that I have been putting all my free time towards a World of Warcraft podcast that I created. The podcast is called Warcrack. Warcrack currently has five episode with number six coming soon. Here is a quick run-down of what Warcrack is all about...

Warcrack is a new World of Warcraft podcast that has hit the internet. In the show, you will hear features such as IMBA Ability of the Week, Analyzing Outlands, Warcraft 101, and a regular group discussion. IMBA Ability of the Week brings you a different overpowered skill from World of Warcraft every week. Analyzing Outlands digs deep into the core of Outlands bringing you detailed information about each zone. Warcraft 101 is your weekly Warcraft lore segment with Paul starting from the creation of Azeroth to the current times. The weekly group discussion (usually with 3 people) goes over rumors around the World of Warcraft, the PvP system, raiding, and anything/everything about WoW. Among these features, Warcrack also has a segment for general WoW news.

So, is this the end of World of Blogcraft? Maybe. We'll have to see what the future holds. But for now, check me out on the podcast!!
